British 2nd Corps – Mk II helmet

Original WW2 British MkII helmet with decal of the 2nd Corps and a skull painted on the backside. The decal badge is three blue/black wavy lines on a white oblong. The helmet is in used condition, as found and uncleaned. The shell is maker marked and dated 1938. The liner is maker marked HELMETS Ltd. and dated 1938 as well. Comes with its original chinstrap.

History note
The 2nd Corps formed part of the BEF and landed in France in October 1939. It fought throughout the May – June campaign in Flanders and Brooke’s HQ was largely responsible for the crucial defence of the eastern flank on the Ypres-Comines Canal during the withdrawal to the Dunkirk perimeter. The remains of the Corps and its divisions were withdrawn through Dunkirk.
