Britsh Mk2 helmet – Durham Light Infantry
Scarce WW2 Britsh Mk2 helmet with decal of the Durham Light Infantry. Helmet is in used condition. There is a name written above the decal ‘Alice’. No markings on the shell visible, liner is maker marked TTC what indicates a production of Teddy Toy Company Ltd from Dagenham, dated 1940 with size 6 3/4 (EU 55). The rubber cross pad is broken (loose from the middle). No chinstrap present. WW2 British helmets with a decal to infantry regiments are getting very scarce, at least original ones!
During the Second World War, nine battalions of the DLI fought with distinction in every major theatre of the War – from Dunkirk in 1940, to North Africa, Malta, Sicily, Italy, Burma and in Europe from D-Day to the final defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945.
