Cape Breton Highlanders – Battle Dress
Original WW2 Cape Breton Highlanders, 5th Canadian Armoured Division Battle Dress tunic for Lance Corporal. The jacket is dated 1940. Good used condition. Fitted with it original makers label what we only see in early tunics, label is unreadable. All insignia are original period applied, nicely sunken down exactly how it should be! Both shoulders straps have the 8th Army patches. Very nice BD tunic.
The Cape Breton Highlanders regiment mobilized the ‘1st Battalion, The Cape Breton Highlanders’ for active service on 1 January 1941. It embarked for Great Britain on 10 November 1941. It landed in Italy on 10 November 1943 as part of the 11th Infantry Brigade, 5th Canadian Armoured Division. The battalion moved to North-West Europe from 20 to 26 February 1945, where it continued to fight until the end of the war.
