RASC, 21st Army Group – Wooden road sign

Original WWII Royal Army Service Corps wooden road sign – 21st Army Group, No. 4 W’s Billets & Mess-Room. This is an original World War II wooden road sign used by the Royal Army Service Corps under the 21st Army Group. The sign is period-painted with the distinctive 21st Army Group markings and features the green and red unit colors associated with the Royal Army Service Corps. It bears the number 555 and is marked No. 4 W’s Billets & Mess-Room.

The sign remains in good overall condition, showing signs of genuine wartime use. It was reissued by the British Army in 1944 (this sign was found in Antwerp), and the original underlying text is still faintly visible beneath the coat of army paint. Measuring 50 x 60 cm, a perfect size to display. A few modern nails were added to secure the front plate, but these can easily be removed if desired for a more authentic look.

A rare find that doesn’t come up for sale very often!
