Original WWII Royal Welch Fusiliers ’21st Army’ P40 battle dress jacket. Features all original wartime machine applied badges. The insignia includes a pair of printed Royal Welch Fusiliers shoulder titles and 21st Army formation patches. The makers label is present, made by S. Simpson Ltd. dated 1943 in size 6. It shows normal signs of use, overall good condition. The Royal Welsh Fusiliers soldier who wore this jacket was attached to the 21st Army Group. WD stamped with letter code ‘N’ for date 1943.

Royal Welch Fusiliers under the 21st Army Group (1944-1945): The Royal Welch Fusiliers (RWF) served in the 53rd (Welsh) Infantry Division, part of 30th Corps under the 21st Army Group in Northwest Europe. Battles & Operations:

-Normandy (June – August 1944) – Landed after D-Day, fought in the bocage and Operation Bluecoat.
-Battle of the Scheldt (Oct – Nov 1944) – Helped secure Antwerp’s access, fighting in tough conditions.
-Operation Veritable (Feb 1945) – Advanced through the Siegfried Line in Germany.
-Rhine Crossing & German Campaign (March – May 1945)
