This is an original British/Canadian WW2 Wireless Set No.38 MKII. British radio with the hard to find harness (only waist strap) and antenna bag with antennas! Junction box, headset. haversack, satchels-bag, throat microphone and booklets.
This British Army issue communications equipment the Wireless Set No 38 was designed as a short-range manpack set. It was widely used by the British Army in the latter part of the War. Early versions were introduced in 1941, and ultimately 187,000 of these short-range sets were manufactured, including 8500 Mk Is. Although intended for short-range communications by infantry, it was also used in Churchill and, later, Sherman tanks to communicate with supporting infantry and even by partisans to communicate with supplying submarines. It operated on the AM/RT system, its frequency coverage was 7.3 to 9 MHz, and it had a range of up to 4 miles.
