British (Airborne) Denison Smock – Date 1945

Original WWII British ‘Airborne’ 2nd Pattern Denison Smock. The smock is in worn, field-used condition and shows two field repairs on the left upper arm, as well as a repair under the left armpit. Please see photos for additional minor damage. The smock retains its readable maker’s label: L. Silberston & Sons Ltd., size 5, dated 1945. The half-zip is fully functional and marked “N” for Newey. The tail is still present. All brass press-studs are present, functional, and marked Newey. A nice example of a field-worn Denison Smock. While primarily associated with Airborne troops, Denison smocks were also widely used by British and Canadian infantry units.
