British (Airborne Troops) Denison Smock – 1942

2.350,00

Original WWII British “Airborne Troops” 1st Pattern Denison Smock. This early 1st Pattern Denison Smock, dated 1942, is in good used condition with honest signs of service wear. A particularly interesting example, it features both styles of camouflage: the sleeves and front are in printed camouflage fabric, while the pocket flaps and reverse retain hand-painted camouflage. The smock retains its original and fully readable maker’s label: Wareings (N’TON) Ltd., 1942, size 3 — a desirable size among collectors. The half-zip is fully functional and marked “Lightning.” The knitted cuffs are intact, with some damage consistent with use. The tail has been removed, a common period practice by troops. One sleeve shows a cut, considered period field damage (see last picture). All brass press-studs are marked NEWEY. One shoulder strap button has been replaced.

A very attractive and hard to find early Denison smock, showing exactly the kind of wear expected after weeks of active field service.
