British Medical Pannier – 1941

Original WWII British Medical Pannier. An original medical pannier, constructed from wicker and covered in canvas. This example was manufactured by Finch & Son Ltd, Gloucester, in 1941. The pannier is in good condition, normal traces of usage, retaining all of its internal dividers, as well as the original carrying band and leather closing strap. Containing original contents, including a field bandage, a tube of Gentian Violet Jelly, surgical blades, and Aspirin tablets.

These panniers were also used by Airborne medics during the war and are now very hard to find, rarely appearing on the market.
