Original WWII British/Canadian No. 36 Mills Bomb Grenade Detonator Tin, empty. The metal detonator tin, measuring approximately 12.5 × 9 × 7 cm. The original paper label is still present on the lid and is dated May 1943. Manufacturer marked Canadian Safety Fuze Company (CSF/C). The Canadian Safety Fuze Company was involved in the wartime production of fuzes and related ordnance components for Canadian and Commonwealth forces during the Second World War. The tin remains in good used condition, showing normal traces of use. Tin only; completely empty and containing no detonators, explosives or other contents. These detonator tins were also carried inside the wooden transport boxes containing No. 36 Mills Bomb grenades, keeping the detonators separate from the grenades during transport and storage.
An interesting original 1943-dated piece of Canadian WWII ordnance-related equipment and a great addition to a Canadian or Commonwealth militaria collection.
