Original WWII RCAF S.B.A. (Standard Beam Approach) Calculator Mark IB, Ref. No. 6B/167, manufactured in Montreal, Canada. This specialized navigation calculator was designed for aircrew using the Standard Beam Approach radio-navigation system. The rotating calculator assisted with QDM headings and the characteristic DOTS / DASHES beam signals used to guide aircraft during approaches. The reverse features station tables for Station – Selector – Q.D.M. and retains its original Canadian markings. A scarce and highly interesting piece of WWII RAF/RCAF aviation and navigation equipment, showing genuine age and service wear.
