4th Canadian Armoured Division – HQ metal road sign

Original WWII 4th Canadian Armoured Division, Headquarters metal road sign. The sign features the distinctive gold maple leaf on a green background of the 4th Canadian Armoured Division, together with the Arm of Service number “40” on black, identifying Divisional Headquarters. The large directional arrow would have been used to direct military traffic towards the headquarters. Original wartime metal road signs such as this are rare to find, particularly in this well-preserved condition with much of the original painted finish still present. The sign was found in the Netherlands approximately one year ago. Size: approximately 51.5 x 23.5 cm.
