British Airborne Oversmock (Parachutists Jacket) – 1944

Original WWII British Airborne Oversmock (Parachutists Jacket), dated 1944. This is a 1944-dated example of the sleeveless green denim oversmock, also known as the Parachutists Jacket. It was worn over the Dension smock and full jump equipment. The garment features a working full-length zipper and two elasticated front “grenade” pockets. The original label remains intact, marked “Jackets Parachutists, Size No. 2,” with size details, and 1944 date, broad arrow acceptance mark “E” which is postwar. It was manufactured by the well-known firm Henry Brown Ltd. The brass Newey press-studded tail flap is intact. The piece is in very good overall condition.
