British Coats, Kapok – Dated 1941

165,00

Original WWII “Coats, Kapok,” dated 1941. Early sheepskin-lined versions were replaced early in the war by kapok for warmth and waterproofing, as sheepskin was needed by the RAF. Heavy, durable design for extreme cold with khaki cotton canvas outer, quilted interior, kapok filling, waterproof interlining, brass closing system, two flapped pockets, large wool-collared neck, and rear vent. The coat is marked with “Flame Proofed” and War Department stamp. It retains its original label: “Coats, Kapok,” size 1, maker J. Morris & Son, 1941, War Department broad arrow, with letter ‘P’ for 1941. Good condition with normal wear and shows storage marks. Photos were taken outside, making the item appear slightly lighter than it is in person.

A rare, original WWII coat, they were also worn by the Long Range Desert Group and SAS.
