British ‘Glider Pilot Regiment’ Maroon Beret – Kangol Wear Limited 1943
Original WWII British Airborne Maroon Beret. A textbook example of the iconic and hard to find maroon beret worn by British and Canadian airborne troops during WWII. This example was manufactured by Kangol Wear Ltd., is size 7 1/8, and dated 1943. The beret shows honest service wear consistent with age and use (see photos). The interior retains a clear War Department stamp with the letter code “N,” confirming a 1943 issue date. It is fitted with a plastic cap badge of the Glider Pilot Regiment (Army Air Corps).
A very attractive and desirable 1943-dated airborne beret.
