British MkII Helmet with Unit Flash and Name

€850,00

Original WWII British MkII helmet with flash and name. An interesting British MkII helmet with flash, retaining its original period components. The helmet is named to Pte. C. Norris and bears the service number T/4623234. Based on the number 4623234, there may be a connection to the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment (Territorial). The prefix “T” was historically used in connection with Territorial service. Other possibilities include the South Lancashire Regiment or REME. We have not conducted any further research into Pte. Norris, so the helmet represents an interesting research project for its next owner. The steel shell is maker marked F&L and dated 1940, while the chinstrap holders are dated 1938. The original liner is manufactured by BH&G Ltd, dated 1939, and marked size 7. The helmet comes complete with its original chinstrap, as found.
