Original WWII British press photograph showing an Allied soldier wearing a netted helmet, writing a letter while resting in a foxhole during the Normandy campaign, 30 June, 1944. The reverse bears a British Information Services, Rockefeller Plaza, New York City press stamp and is dated June 30, 1944, placing the photograph shortly after the D-Day landings. In front of the soldier we can see a Lee-Enfield rifle and a Bren helper bag. A very original wartime photograph connected to the fighting in Normandy. Size 21 x 25 CM
