British Trousers, Windproof Camouflaged – 1943
Original WWII British Windproof Camouflaged Trousers with maker’s label 1943. Production of the British Windproof Camouflage Suit began in 1943, making this pair of trousers an early example. The camouflage windproof suits were made from the same lightweight, windproofed cotton material used for the drab tan sets. The camouflage pattern is similar to that of the Denison smock, sharing the same base colours and brushstroke style. This pair of trousers is in good condition and shows minimal traces of wear. Draw tapes are present. Both buttoned ankle fastening tabs retain buttons. The trousers have their original maker’s label: John Gordon & Co, dated 1943 in size 7.
