British Windproof Camouflaged Smock – A. Raven & Co 1943
Original WWII British Windproof Camouflaged Smock. The camouflage windproof suits were made from the same lightweight, windproofed cotton material used for the drab tan sets. The camouflage pattern is similar to that of the Denison smock, sharing the same base colours and brushstroke style. The production started in 1943. This smock is in very good condition, no damage. The original maker’s label is present, uncommon maker: A. Raven & Co, perfect size 5. and dated 1943. War-Department letter “N” stamped for the date 1943. Draw tapes and all buttons are present. This is a rare 1943 dated smock in a very desirable larger size.
These smocks were very popular among British and Canadian troops, particularly infantry, snipers, and special forces.
