Canadian Balaclava

Original WWII Canadian Wool Balaclava. A very nice Canadian wool balaclava, preserved in very good condition. The balaclava is stamped with the Canadian C-Broad Arrow acceptance mark, identifying it as Canadian military issue. The accompanying wartime photograph was taken in July 1944 and shows Canadian and British soldiers after being taken prisoner of war. One of the soldiers can clearly be seen wearing a Canadian wool balaclava, providing an excellent period reference for this type of cold weather headgear in use during the war, also during the summer period in Normandy. Is was part of the basic winter equipment.

Please note: The helmet and display head shown in the photographs are not included in the sale and are pictured for display purposes only, to give an impression of how the balaclava can be displayed.
