Canadian Machete with Scabbard – Montreal 1944

Original WWII Canadian Machete. During WWII, British and Canadian forces used machetes as field tools alongside axes and hatchets. They could also be found among the pioneer tools carried on military vehicles, including those associated with Airborne Troops. This example is in good overall condition, with visible wear to the blade. The leather scabbard is also in good condition, which is noteworthy as these scabbards are often found damaged or with loose components. The scabbard is nicely maker-stamped Robco Ltd., Montreal, and dated 1944. The machete itself was manufactured in the USA by Legitimus Collins & Co., marked No. 1250 and dated 1940. Canada imported machetes from the United States during WWII. The Canadian-issued examples differ slightly from the British-made variations.

Overall, a nice original WWII Canadian-issued machete with a nice scabbard.
