Grenadier Guards – P37 Battledress Blouse

Original WWII Grenadier Guards P37 battledress blouse. This battledress blouse retains its original, period-applied insignia, a nice pair of embroidered Grenadier Guards shoulder titles. The blouse is named on the inside, although the name is difficult to read. It is in good overall condition, with two small areas of damage to the back. The blouse bears two anti-gas A.V. stamps dated 1941 and 1943. The blouse also features a nice set of period medal ribbons consisting of the 1939–45 Star, Africa Star with 8th Army Clasp, and Italy Star. These ribbons provide an interesting insight into the original owner’s wartime service. Based on the ribbon bar, it is reasonable to assume that the original owner already served during the early years of the war, including the North African and Italian campaigns, which ties in well with the dated anti-gas stamps.

If the buyer is able to decipher the name, it could reveal a very interesting history. A fine and original example of a Grenadier Guards battledress blouse.
