Ontario (Tank) Regiment – Cap badge with backing

Original WWII Ontario (Tank) Regiment cap badge, complete with its original red cloth backing, which appears to have remained with the badge since the war. The original red cloth backing has nicely discoloured with age, giving the badge a great untouched, been-there appearance. The soldier used a printed divisional patch as backing material, which was a common practice at the time. Cap badges retaining their original cloth backings are becoming increasingly difficult to find. The Algonquin Regiment served as part of the 4th Canadian Armoured Division during the Second World War.
