RAF “Gibson Girl” Radio Aerial Launching Kite

Original WWII RAF “Gibson Girl” Radio Aerial Launching Kite. This was an emergency radio transmitter used in Royal Air Force (RAF) aircraft and lifeboats. It required a kite to lift its antenna—this is one of those kites. It comes in two sections for assembly. The metal tube includes instructions and a diagram. The kite has yellow/orange fabric with printed instructions. The tube is in good condition and includes the original screw-top lid. Dimensions (assembled): 94 × 43 × 43 cm, Tube: 56 × 7.5 cm.
