RCEME Beret – Dorothea 1944 “Named”

Original WWII Canadian beret featuring the cap badge of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), complete with its original blue cloth backing. The cap badge appears to be original to the beret and is secured in place with a piece of plastic stiffening material to help the badge retain its shape and position, a common practice among soldiers. Interestingly, this plastic insert bears the soldier’s name! The beret was manufactured by Dorothea Hats Ltd. of Toronto, dated 1944, and marked size 7. The beret is in nicely worn condition, showing genuine signs of age and use. There is some moth damage, as shown in the photographs.
