U.S. Camouflaged Parachute – July 1943

Original WWII U.S. Camouflaged Parachute from Operation Market Garden. A fantastic and historic battlefield piece, recovered directly from DZ/T near Groesbeek, Holland. This drop zone was used by elements of the 82nd Airborne Division, including the 508th PIR and 2nd Battalion, 505th PIR, on September 17, 1944, during Operation Market Garden. The parachute was found on the former drop zone in the early 1990s and remains in good as-found condition. It shows various rips, tears and damage, possibly caused by barbed wire, trees and its time on the battlefield around the Wylerbaan area.

Manufactured by the Pioneer Parachute Company and dated July 1943.

A scarce and highly evocative piece recovered directly from the Operation Market Garden battlefield.
