Glider Pilot Helmet with Headphones & Microphone – Size 7 3/8
RARE WWII British Glider Pilot crash helmet in excellent condition. Originally issued to the British Army Air Corps, this helmet was famously worn by Glider Pilots during Operation Overlord (D-Day) and Operation Market Garden in Holland. The helmet retains its original brown lacquered fabric cover, and the internal liner is in good condition, with a nice chamois interior. The rubber earpiece cups are used, left side earpiece cup is dry and a bit out of shape (see photos). Complete with often-missing headphones, external wired loom and microphone. Helmet is marked with the broad arrow visible, hardly readable. Inside shows a size stamp 7 3/8 which is a very good size for todays mannequins. The elastic chinstrap and snap fasteners are intact and fully functional, shows traces of wear.
This Glider Pilot helmet, in such pristine original condition, is a truly rare find on the market.
