Regina Rifle Regiment – Printed shoulder title

Original WWII Regina Rifle Regiment printed shoulder title. This English-made insignia, worn by Canadian troops overseas, remains in good condition.

In 1944-1945, the Regina Rifle Regiment of Canada (known as the “Regina Rifles”) played a significant role in the Allied campaign during World War II, as part of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division.

Normandy and D-Day
The Regina Rifles landed on Juno Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944, being among the first Canadian units to assault the heavily defended beaches. Despite heavy resistance, they successfully secured their objectives and pushed inland, contributing to the success of the Normandy invasion.

Northwest Europe Campaign
Following D-Day, the Regina Rifles fought in key battles across Normandy, including the intense combat at Caen and the Falaise Gap, helping to encircle and defeat German forces. They continued their advance through France, Belgium, and into the Netherlands, participating in operations to liberate Dutch towns.

Final Months of the War
In early 1945, the regiment moved into Germany as part of the Allied final offensive, playing a key role in securing territories and liberating occupied areas. By the end of the war in May 1945, the Regina Rifles had earned a reputation for their bravery and effectiveness in battle.

Their service from D-Day through the end of the war contributed significantly to the Allied victory in Northwest Europe.
