Original WWII Canadian Officer’s Grouping – Lieutenant Charles E. Ennis.
Lieutenant Charles Edson Ennis, B-32409, served with the 4th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment (4LAA), Royal Canadian Artillery (RCA), as part of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. This desirable grouping includes both of his Battle Dress jackets, a pair of trousers, and several personal kit items.

  • Battle Dress Jackets: Both named to Ennis inside; one dated 1944, the other 1945.

  • Trousers: Dated 1944.

  • Condition: All items in good, used condition with minor wear and small damages consistent with service.

Charles Edson Ennis was born in the United States and volunteered for the Canadian Army overseas. A Harvard graduate (June 1940), he was in his second year at Cornell University Law School when, in October 1941—before the U.S. entered the war—he took a leave of absence to enlist with Canada. His decision reflected not only his commitment to the Allied cause but also family tradition: his older brother, Thomas Edson Ennis, had served with the 19th Infantry Battalion, CEF, during the First World War.

With the Royal Canadian Artillery, Charles served in anti-aircraft unit operating the Bofors gun and was attached to the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. His wartime story and service offer potential for further research.

A rare and historic grouping to a Canadian officer with American roots. Photos shown are copies.
