British Army Kapok Lined Coat “Coats, Tropal, Lined” – Dated 1942

160,00

Original WWII Army Kapok Lined Coat “Coats, Tropal, Lined,” dated 1942. Early sheepskin-lined versions were replaced early in the war by kapok for warmth and waterproofing, as sheepskin was needed by the RAF. Heavy, durable design for extreme cold with khaki cotton canvas outer, quilted interior, kapok filling, waterproof interlining, wooden toggles, two flapped pockets, large wool-collared neck, and rear vent. The coat retains its original label: “Coats, Tropal, Lined,” size 3, maker Selincourt & Sons Ltd, War Department broad arrow, with letter ‘O’ for 1942. One button on the lower-back is missing.

Good condition with normal wear and storage marks. A rare, original WWII coat, they were also worn by the Long Range Desert Group and SAS.
