4th LAA RCA Battle Dress Jacket – Lt. Charles E. Ennis

Original WWII 4th Light Anti-Aircraft (LAA) Royal Canadian Artillery (RCA) Battle Dress jacket named to Lieutenant Charles E. Ennis. The Battle Dress jacket is in good, used condition with no major damage. It is dated 1944, and Ennis’s name is written inside. The jacket is original period badged and  bears very nice English-made embroidered insignia with melton French-grey 3rd Canadian Infantry Division patches. Lieutenant Charles Edson Ennis (service number B-32409) served with the 4th L.A.A., R.C.A., attached to the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. Born in the United States, Ennis volunteered for service in the Canadian Army overseas before the United States entered the war. With the Royal Canadian Artillery, Ennis served in an anti-aircraft unit operating the Bofors gun and was attached to the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. The regiment landed in Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944. His wartime service and personal background offer excellent potential for further research.
