Black Watch of Canada – Tam O’ Shanter
Original WWII Canadian Tam O’ Shanter cap with Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada hackle (plume). The Tam O’ Shanter was worn by Canadian regiments with Scottish heritage. This example features a rear drawstring fastened in a bow, and a woolen toorie (pom-pom) on the crown, a traditional Scottish detail. The interior is maker-marked “Buffalo Cap & Neckwear Ltd., Winnipeg”, dated 1940, and sized 7 1/8. It also bears the Canadian C broad arrow stamp.
The cap remains in good overall condition. The hackle may have been added at a later date.
