British Denim Tank Suit – Dated 1944
A rare, original WWII British Denim Tank Suit with its original label, dated 1944. This style of tank suit was introduced to the British Army in 1942/1943 and was designed to be worn over the Battledress uniform, much like the two-piece denim uniform. These suits were widely used during the Normandy campaign and were well-regarded for their lightweight and versatile nature. They have become very rare today when dated 1944. The overalls feature two map pockets—one on the front of each leg—as well as an additional pen holder section on the front of the left breast pocket. This suit retains its original label, showing the maker’s mark and the date 1944, and is a good large size 5. The condition is good used, with normal signs of wear, including minimal damages and a small, barely visible repair between the armpit and left breast pocket. The original waist belt and internal harness straps are also present.
A wonderful addition to any collection!
