British Denison Smock – Dated 1943

Original British (Airborne) 1st pattern  Denison Smock in used condition. The smock shows traces of usage with some field repairs, a combat worn smock! The ‘Lighthing’ zipper closure is in good condition and funtional.  The smock has its original makers label, maker marked by ‘H&B. Hoffman and Sons Ltd’. Dated 1943 in size 5 (perfect size). The 1st pattern Denison smocks are fitted with woolen cuffs and were produced in 1942 and 1943. All press studs are Newey. Tail is cut off what is very common for worn smocks. These smocks were used by British and Canadian Paratroopers, Commando’s and regular army troops.

This is a very nice worn Denison smock, getting hard to find in good size and early date!

Description

Original early wartime ‘hand painted’ Denison Smock 1st model in good used condition! These early first models were were hand painted, and not offered for sale very often. The smock shows normal traces of usage. The zipper closure is marked ‘N’ what indicates the company of Newey. The smock has its original makers label, maker marked by C.W.S. this company doesn’t show the date on the label very often, the early 1942 types of camouflage were handpainted fabrics. The smock is fitted with Newey press studs, good functional zipper. Full length tail is present, one front press stud for the tail is missing. These smocks were used by British and Canadian Paratroopers, Commando’s or regular army troops.
