British MkI RAC Helmet – Unit insignia on both sides

Original WWII British MkI RAC helmet, named to Sergeant Lindsay, featuring unit insignia on both sides. The left side of the helmet presents an insignia of the 42nd Armoured Division, while the right side features an unidentified three-color triangle. The 42nd Armoured division was converted on 1 November 1941 into an armoured division. The division’s first commander was Major-General Miles C. Dempsey. However, the division was not posted overseas and its divisional headquarters was disbanded on 17 October 1943, the division was assigned to the 53rd (Welsh) Infantry Division and its armour to the 79th Armoured Division. So we suggest the tree-color flash represents a unit in the 53rd (Welsh) Infantry Division and its armour to the 79th Armoured Division.
The helmet is in good used condition, it has its original factory paint. The liner is in good used condition, manufactured by CCL, dated 1942. Comes with its original chinstrap.
