British Overalls Tank Crews – 1942
Very RARE 1942 dated British Tank Crew Overalls. This khaki-coloured British tank suit is in very good condition, showing only normal signs of service wear. It is complete with all of its original and fully functional zippers, as well as Newey brass press-studs. The tank suit has a canvas-reinforced strap sewn into the overall, with a section at the neck designed for dragging; if a trooper was wounded, his comrade could pull him away from the vehicle. The overall retains a clear and original maker’s label, marked DENHAM Ltd., size 5, and dated 1942. WD letter ‘O’ stamped that indicates the dated 1942 as well. This pattern of tank suit is commonly associated with early-war British armoured vehicle crews and is believed to have been issued with Dingo scout cars, as well as to British, Canadian, and Polish armoured troops.
A must-have piece for the advanced collector of British WWII uniforms.
