British Paratrooper Mk2 helmet – BMB 1943

RARE WW2 British Paratrooper Mk2 helmet with black painted chinstrap as worn by the 4th Battalion Parachute Regiment during Operation DRAGOON, some other units might have blackened their equipment too. This helmet is 1943 dated, which are the first batch Mk2 Paratrooper helmets with web chinstrap. The helmet is maker marked BMB, dated 1943 in large size 7 3/8. Comes with its original camouflage net as found. Absolutely stunning helmet what is untouched. The crashpad is present.

The 4th Battalion Parachute Regiment as part of the 2nd Independent Parachute Brigade blackened all their web equipment including the helmet chinstrap!
The 2nd (Independent) Brigade parachuted into Southern France in August 1944 as part of Operation DRAGOON and occupied Athens in the autumn and winter of 1944-5, before returning to Italy.
