Canadian Ankle-Boots with rubber soles 1944
RARE Original WWII Canadian Ankle Boots with Rubber Soles for Armoured Personnel and Commandos. This is a rare pair of standard-issue WWII Canadian ankle boots, specifically designed with sulfur-vulcanized rubber soles for use by armoured corps personnel and some army commando units. Unlike standard boots with steel hobnails, which tended to be slippery on the metal floors of vehicles, these boots provided better grip and stability. The boots are maker-marked and dated 1944, in size 6 1/2 (equivalent to 39 EU), a normal size for the era. The rubber soles are produced by Panco, Canada, and the boots come with their original laces. Overall, they are in good condition.
A very hard-to-find pair of boots that would make a fantastic display item, especially alongside other armoured corps-related artifacts.
