Canadian Light Respirator with bag – ZL&T 1943
Original WWII Canadian Light Respirator Set. An excellent example of a Canadian-manufactured Light Respirator Set, complete with its filter, carrying bag, and small accessories. The rubber respirator, produced by VMC and dated 1942 and issued in 1944 (white stamp), remains in solid field-used condition and is clearly C-Broad Arrow stamped on the inside. The filter, dated June 3, 1944, retains its original cork plug and also bears the Canadian Broad Arrow marking. The Light Mk II carrying bag, manufactured by ZL&T Ltd. in December 1943, shows honest field wear consistent with service use. Inside the bag are two additional accessories: an Eyeshield cardboard holder (empty) and an Anti-Dimming Outfit, stored in the small pocket at the base of the bag. Named to C. POLARD.
Canadian respirator sets are difficult to find. This example represents exactly how field-used wartime equipment appeared in service.
