Denison Smock (Airborne Troops) – Dated 1942
Scarce 1st pattern British Denison Smock (Airborne Troops). This is a 1st pattern smock incorporates both styles of print, main body showing the slightly later format, the sleeves and lower pocket, as well as zip placket and tail are in the older style print which is stunning! The smock is in good used condition, shows traces of wear (see photos). The smock is fitted with its maker’s label, CWS, date is not readable but this must be 1942 or 1943, size 1. Both knitted cuffs are in good used condition with traces of wear. The tail is present. Brass press-studs are all NEWEY marked. The zipper is replaced at some point, definitely an old repair. The smock has original applied insignia, printed Corporal rank and Jump Wing. There is a service number written inside the smock’s interior, barely readable.
This Denison smock is published in the book DENISON from Military-Mode.
