Perth Regiment – Battle Dress ‘RARE Shoulder Flashes’
Original WW2 Perth Regiment – 5th Canadian Armoured Division battle dress tunic. The tunic is in good used condition, with nice modified collar. The tunic features original period applied insignia consisting of very scarce Perth Regiment shoulder titles on blue felt background and embroidered in gold as the regiment was issued with in 1945, felt maroon patches for 5th Canadian Armoured Division and medal ribbon bars. The tunic is nicely maker marked and dated 1944 in size 3 (this size fits a small mannequin or normal torso).
Very nice original and hard to find Perth Regiment BD tunic with scarce shoulder titles!
The Perth Regiment spent the early years of WW2 in garrison and training in Britain. It saw combat in Italy as an infantry battalion in the 11th infantry Brigade of the 5th Canadian Armoured Division. The Perths soon gained a reputation for courage, initiative and reliability. In early March of 1945, all Canadian troops which had been fighting in Italy were transferred to Belgium resulting in all five Canadian divisions fighting as a team. In some of the hardest actions of the war, the Canadians drove the Germans out of northern Holland and helped to end the war.
