R.A.F. Irving Combined Pattern Flying Suit – Dated 1940

Original WWII R.A.F. Irving Combined Pattern Flying Suit. A very good example of an Irving Combined Pattern Flying Suit, manufactured by Irving Air Chute of Great Britain Ltd. Size Large, dated 11 October 1940. This suit was designed to integrate the harness and parachute into a single, torso-covering garment — compact enough to allow quick and unhindered escape from the aircraft. Manufactured from heavy olive drab cotton, featuring twin front zip openings and zipped pockets. The suit is in excellent, near mint condition and would be an ideal addition to an early Battle of Britain display.
