British Armoured Corps Mk1 Steel Helmet

Original WWII Royal Armoured Corps (RAC) Mk1 steel helmet. The first steel helmet adopted for use by tank and RAC crews was the RAC Mk1 Steel Helmet. They used the same shell as the Dispatch Rider helmet and second pattern airborne helmet which has a metal rim fitted to the edge of the body. The Mk1 pattern RAC helmet was fitted with a MkII liner as found in MkII helmets, this was held in place with a bolt and nut. This helmet is in good, used condition as found. This helmet with its original chinstrap which is a bit shorted. Liner is maker marked AG&Co and dated 194*(barely readable). The rubber cross is damaged but present.
