RAF B-type flying helmet – Dated 1940

Scarce early wartime Royal Air Force (RAF) B-type flying helmet.  Made by Frank Bryan, Limited London & Worcester, dated 1940 in size 3 which is 7 1/8 to 7 3/8. The leather is generally supple with good original finish. Fitted with zipped earpieces, both with good original zips and with receiver carriers. The left earpiece (as worn) shows a period repair. The chinstrap is in good order and complete with the metal end piece. Both Bennett buckles retains their leather covering though the rear. The chamois lining is still very good and clean. Complete with a nice large 1940 dated maker’s label. This cap comes with a beautiful set of RCAF rubber cushions inside the earpieces. Even the press studs are still having some brown paint visible.
