RAF Service Dress jacket – Group Captain R.E. BAIN
Original WWII RAF Service Dress jacket worn by Group Captain Richard Erskine Bain (b. 26-10-1900). Bain began his career as a Squadron Leader in 1936, was promoted to Wing Commander in 1940, and became Group Captain in January 1944. In 1939, he served as Commanding Officer of the 43rd Squadron RAF. The jacket is made by J. Dege & Sons Ltd, London, with the maker’s label dated 10-5-1931 or 1936 and marked Squadron Leader R.E. Bain. It is in good condition, showing traces of wear. Complete with ribbons.
