“Seaforth Highlanders of Canada” Battle Dress Jacket – Private James Stuart Ross
€1.550,00
Original WWII Seaforth Highlanders of Canada battle dress jacket worn by Private James Stuart Ross, a steelworker from Vancouver, B.C. (Service Number: K-51667). He was awarded the 1939–1945 Star, Italy Star, France & Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Clasp, and War Medal 1939–1945. Ross served in the United Kingdom, Italy, and Europe, arriving in the UK on November 23, 1943, with D-Company, Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. He arrived in Italy on January 13, 1944, serving there until March 14, 1945, and subsequently in the Netherlands from March 15, 1945. He was wounded in action on December 26, 1944. The jacket is in worn condition, with some damage to pocket corners and minor wear, and features a stunning pair of British-made embroidered “Sheriff” shoulder titles and printed 1st Canadian Infantry Division formation patches. Ross’s name and service information are written inside the jacket. Maker markings are faded, with the date 1944 barely visible upon close inspection. A fascinating piece of Canadian military history, with stunning shoulder titles and accompanied by his service records from the Canadian archives.
NOTE: The red of the division insignia really stands out in photographs
