SOE MCR-1 – Type 36/1

2.100,00

Original WWII SOE MCR-1 – Type 36/1. The MCR1 is a compact valve-based clandestine receiver developed in 1943 for the SOE (Special Operations Executive) and Special Forces, later also used by the Army. Built by Philco, it was supplied in sealed “biscuit tin” containers and became widely used by resistance groups across Europe. Covering 150 kHz–1.6 MHz and 2.5–15 MHz with four plug-in coil packs, it could run from batteries or an external PSU and was also used in Jedburgh and Nicholls radio sets. Over 30,000 were produced by the end of the war. This set includes the Power Supply Unit with mains wiring and plug, the receiver, and coil packs 1–4. The receiver has contact pins on the right side for fitting any of the four coil packs, each covering a different frequency band. The thickest coil pack (far right) is for MW broadcast reception. Antenna and headphones are not included. A rare set that includes the Power Supply Unit.

Note: The battery is a good copy.
