South Saskatchewan Regiment – BD Jacket ‘Don Angus’

Original WWII South Saskatchewan Regiment (SSR) Corporal’s Battle Dress jacket with its original beret. The jacket is in worn condition with normal signs of age. The maker markings have faded due to wear, but it is a standard size and dated 1944. All insignia are original, period-applied, and nicely sunken into the fabric, including a pair of English-made embroidered SSR shoulder titles, melton wool 2nd Canadian Infantry Division patches, and Corporal rank chevrons. The left lower sleeve bears a wound stripe, indicating the wearer was wounded during the war. The jacket shows period tailor modifications, including an open collar and pleated back, very nicely done and typical of wartime personalization. The beret is dated 1945, size 7 1/8, and retains its original cap badge with backing cloth. A handwritten note accompanied the jacket with the name “Don Angus,” though no research has yet been conducted. (equipment did not come with the jacket).

A stunning South Saskatchewan Regiment, 2nd Canadian Infantry Division, Battle Dress jacket complete with its original beret.
